2017 holiday plans: Cornwall and skiing in France

Family holiday to Cornwall for March 2017

Our family holidays are a little like buses; we haven’t had one for ages and then two come along at once! Our March 2017 is looking quite booked up now with plenty of family travel & adventures, and I am starting to get super excited about them!

The first holiday we are embarking upon is a weeks trip to Cornwall. I can’t believe I am saying this but I have NEVER been to this part of the UK. I know. I am therefore feeling really excited to go and explore the area because I have heard many fantastic things about the place!

We are going to be staying in the beautiful St Mawes – with St Mawes Retreats. These are luxury properties ideal for 2 to 14 guests. Our property is going to be a contemporary-style detached house with breathtaking sea views and only a 5 minute stroll to the beaches, shops and restaurants! It sounds idyllic.

There will be quite a few of us going away – the same group of friends we stayed in North Devon recently – and so we will have a good time and laugh no doubt! I just hope the weather is kind to us and stays mild so that we can enjoy some nice days out.

After this we are home for a little bit and then the four of us are jetting off skiing! We are going on our Mark Warner ski holiday to Meribel in France – for a week.

Whilst Dave is mega excited, I am feeling rather nervous of this trip, to be perfectly honest. Mostly because we are total beginners and I have only ever tried dry ski slopes before, but largely because I feel as though the older I get the more fearful I am! However, we have booked some ski lessons and I intend to fully embrace it and try my best to master it.

I am sure we will have an amazing experience..the twins cannot wait to see the snow and it will be something that we will remember for a lifetime!

I’ll keep you posted on our adventures and do follow along on Instagram for all our fun! I’m currently in busy organisation and packing mode right now ready for all this amazing adventure ahead!

Love, Jess x

You’re going to LOVE St Mawes!! I seriously wish we’d had enough time to spend a week there too; 4 days was just not long enough. And here’s to our first skiing trips!!!! I’m starting to get SO excited!!!! Wish we were all going together — they missed a trick there; I think it would have been so much fun!! Maybe next year??!! 😉 xx

You will LOVE the skiing! We converted to winter holidays 5 years ago and have NEVER looked back. Seriously so much fun as a family. I only started when I was 40 and yes, whilst the nerves are there, you can just go at your own pace. My kids are way better than me! St Mawes is also a beautiful place, friends of ours have an amazing place down there. So beautiful.
