I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to once more get myself back up-to-date with fashion, style & trends. Since having the twins 4 years ago my interest in fashion took a back-seat because my life has been filled with so many other things – and I simply haven’t had the time or inclination. But, I am now back and loving everything to do with fashion & style again! Hurrah!
One thing that has also been helping me to feel more confident with myself again is getting fit. Joining David Lloyd recently has helped me to tone up and feel good about wearing clothes again. I am also obsessed with following stylish people on social media (mostly Instagram) for hints and tips on what’s hot right now. Pinterest is also giving me some great ideas too.
It seems that one of the key 2106 trends (that is everywhere) is the bomber jacket. Silk or velvet is preferred. And let me be really honest here, I have been cautious about this because a) I am 37 years old, and b) I just haven’t known what it would go with. But with the slightly cooler days creeping in – and therefore the need for a jacket – the bomber does seem to be a great option.
Lottie and I are wearing matching jackets which we have been kindly sent from Next – which are in my favourite ever colour, dusky pink. It is such a lovely thing to be able to be be twinning with my girl Lottie! It makes me so happy!
Clearly she totally rocks her jacket in a size 4-5 yrs (below) – and looks amazing in a pair of scruffy jeans and her hair wild from a morning of swimming! Hers is fleece lined and great for playing in and going to preschool.
And I genuinely love my pink blush bomber jacket too. I like this whole look because it is with a pair of casual jeans and a plain tee…i.e. I don’t look as though I am trying too hard? I adore wearing the casual look and yet the jacket makes this feel a little more stylish.
I’m also wearing a white tee and bag from Next, jeans from New Look, Sunglasses from Matalan and wedges from TK Maxx.
Lottie is wearing pumps and jeans from Next.
I’d definitely do the school run in this, go to meet friends or to go shopping at the weekend. Plus I love how lightweight the jacket is. The bomber really does seem to be a great piece for the transition into Autumn, for both Lottie & I.
So, what do you think? Have you tried this look yet? I’d love to know!
Love, Jess x
