Big sleeves

The big sleeves trend - 2017

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock lately (although that IS quite possible in early January with all this cold weather!) then you will be fully aware that the BIG sleeve is all over our high street. The bigger, the better.

I was, myself, a little wary of this new 2017 trend – mainly because of potentially dipping them into the twins tomato pasta when preparing their dinner, and other such accidents. For they don’t look very practical do they? However, I decided to go for it and embrace the trend and purchase my ever first flute sleeve.

This M&S funnel neck flute sleeve cropped jumper has been worn by a few of my favourite bloggers (I am such a sucker for a bit of Instagram influencing), plus I adore the colour grey. The price (£35) also really appealed to me too.

It’s actually even better in real life – these photos don’t do it justice. SO soft and very cosy. I absolutely love it. It is a little cropped, but I don’t feel as though it is too short on me.

Here are my other favourite statement sleeves tops & 5 top picks from around the high street:

2017 trends - statement sleeves

1/ Blouse by M&S

2/ Cuff sweater by & Other Stories

3/ Frill detail jumper by Laura Ashley

4/ Frilled sweater by Zara

5/ Blouse by Mango

I have the Laura Ashley one above, I can’t wait to show you, plus I’d like to get that & Other Stories one too. They are all so stylish and would go perfectly with jeans or trousers.

Do you like this trend? Have you got any statement sleeve tops as yet?

Love, Jess x

I absolutely love a big statement sleeve and I have now collected quite a few shirts and jumpers with them. (They are also quite annoying though and usually, I cant wait to get them off so that they can stop flapping about in my food and stuff!)

Yes me too – they look great but aren’t incredibly practical for eating! These seem OK as they aren’t too flappy! xx
