One of the outcomes of my wardrobe edit session in December with the amazing Lisa, a Personal Stylist, was that my wardrobe was lacking in some real clothing basics. You know..black trousers, court shoes, black boots, tan coat..that kind of thing. The go-to pieces that you need, time after time, that enable you to create a capsule wardrobe.
Throughout the last few years my own wardrobe has become a mis-match of items, with no real focus. In fact, as a result, I have been really struggling to put outfits together.
After Lisa’s visit I made myself a list of those key staples that I’d like to add into my wardrobe over the next few months – and in there was the black boot. Essential!
I’ve gone with this smart and stylish pair from Next that even have a bit of a heel! I decided to go with a chunkier type of heel so that I can walk in them (I am not used to walking in heels anymore since having the twins!). They are actually incredibly comfortable, plus (the best bit) is that they will go with absolutely anything in my wardrobe.
I don’t know about you, but unless I am going off to something special, or a client meeting, I find wearing high heels is a bit over the top for just doing the school run and then working from home. These boots however look great and jazz up an outfit, but are still very practical too.
London top, Primark (available in store)
I’m in love with my new boots and I am really enjoying building up my style basics! Stay posted for more coming soon.
