Like I’ve said before on here, I wear many hats. Well not real, actual hats, but I have got many different roles throughout the day. I’m Mum first thing in the morning (until the school gates at 9am) and then during the week days I’m also a blogger & freelance social media manager. For these jobs I mostly work from home but some weeks I have to leave my cosy office and venture out to attend a meeting in town or at a clients premises.
I haven’t got time usually to pop home from the school run and get changed and so on these kind of days, where I am out with a client/in a meeting, I need an outfit that I can do the school drop off in and then go talk work straight after!
You KNOW how much I love a good blazer these days (it is fast becoming my uniform) and so this kind of outfit is perfect for causal-meets-smart. The lovely folk at Next kindly sent me this gorgeous grey, waffle blazer last week and I absolutely love it. Not only does it go with most of my wardrobe but it is so comfortable too. I love the gathered detail on the sleeves (keeping it on trend) and the fit is perfect.
If you’re not really into the current trend of over-sized blazers that I talked about recently in this post then this kind of shorter blazer style might be much better.
The small block heel on my tan suede boots (which were from Next last year) gives me a little bit of height as well as making the outfit appear smarter, yet they aren’t too high to walk in. The jeans keep it casual and therefore perfect for popping back for the twins on the school run again for 3pm!
For these early warm autumn days I usually wear a light jumper underneath (like this new white Laura Ashley one) and then add some gold jewellery and a cross-over bag.
