If you work from home, or you’re a stay-at-home-Mum, or your work-wear is fairly casual, then you’ll probably be similar to me in what I wear during the week. Jeans, tops and jackets. Tick.
As a Mum I have just 5-10 minutes to get ready & get out of the door in the morning. Sound familiar? There’s just so many other things to do and think about that getting myself dressed and ready becomes low priority!
I do, however, have slightly more time nowadays than when the twins were really little. But it still isn’t long to plan an outfit, get dressed, put on make-up and do my hair.
So here are my 5 top tips to get a stylish outfit each morning, with as little stress as possible:
1/ Try and plan your outfit the night before, especially if you have something important to attend the next day – like a meeting, lunch, event etc. Hang them all out ready, including shoes, a coat and a bag.
2/ Check the weather forecast if you can for the day ahead – because being too hot or cold can ruin any outfit!
3/ Try not to pick out the same outfits each day – try getting out and wearing something you haven’t worn in a while, especially if you’re feeling in a good/confident mood. It does make you feel better and helps to get out of a style rut.
4/ Try keeping a capsule wardrobe; I have worked hard at building mine up over the last 9 months. Mine consists of key items that work well together and that requires little thought. That way I am not struggling to find a top to go with a certain skirt (for example) in the morning.
5/ Make time for make-up and hair; I always feel so grumpy if my hair is mess! These days I use super quick products such a dry shampoo (if I haven’t had time to wash my hair) or hairspray for making it do what I want! I also use my favourite make-up products that I love for a really quick routine.
So with that, here are some superb stylish outfit ideas from around the high-street, for busy Mums, who need to get themselves (and their little ones) out of the house in the morning:

So how about you – do you have any tips for getting ready on-the-go?
