Before I go on, I just want to make you fully aware that I have been trying to find a great pair of straight leg cropped jeans for such a LONG time now. It’s something that’s been hounding me for many months.
Ever since all the best fashion bloggers made straight leg jeans look effortlessly cool and stylish I have wanted to find my own amazing pair too. A pair that I could wear with trainers, ankle boots and my lovely chunky knits. But could I find a decent pair that fit and flattered me?
I’m here to tell you it’s been a struggle.
I have tried on so many styles, fits, shapes. I’ve sent a lot of pairs back to stores, whilst feeling incredibly fed up. I don’t know why but the straight leg jean is such a hard shape of jeans to pull off. I’ve even tried all the fail-safe high street places such as Topshop and Zara and not been able to find anything quite right.
I haven’t worn anything from Baukjen before (despite lusting over their classic and sophisticated collections) and so I was delighted when they kindly sent me some items recently, including these black boyfriend jeans. They fit well, sit just right and are really comfortable. Perfect for casual wear, dressing up for work meetings or for weekends with the family. I love them. I know they are going to make a superb addition into my wardrobe.

I went for black and I’m glad, because I needed some classic staples back in my closet again. Everyone needs a good fitting pair of black jeans in their wardrobe because they go with absolutely everything and are very flattering. I’m delighted with these. I have put them here today with my over-sized chunky cream knit that I picked up in H&M recently and a pair of heeled boots from Next. These jeans also look amazing with loafers too.
With an easy fit and slightly tapered leg, these jeans also have a nice soft stretch denim. Happy days.
With the mild weather coming and going each week throughout this season I don’t mind having a little bit of ankle on show on slightly warmer days. However, I’m short so these jeans might come up a lot higher on someone much taller (they are turned up here though).
Like I said in my post here about designer handbags, I am getting more selective these days about where I purchase my clothes from – and how I wear them. I am trying to make better choices with my clothing and thus reduce the amount of ‘fast fashion’ that I consume. I’m aiming to go for more quality pieces; i.e. ones that will last me and be timeless.
If you’ve not checked out Baukjen yet then here’s more from their collection that I wanted to share with you. They have beautiful pieces and such stunning quality. Happy shopping guys.
Love, Jess x
