Packing for sun, sea and sangria

I casually reminded Dave the other day that we’ve only got 4 weeks until our family holiday to Gran Canaria at Easter — 4 weeks TO GO! Which is both exciting and has also sent me into a slight panic too (because of all the new stuff we need to get and pack).

I know that most people right now are still buying chunky sweaters and can’t imagine life without their socks and big coats, but I’ve been trying to put all the freezing cold temperatures to the back of my mind and try to focus on sunnier climes. I’m thinking a floaty dress, a straw bag, an all-over-tan and sipping a cold Pina Colada in the sun whilst the children play happily in the pool.

Right now, there’s hardly any summery items hanging in any of our wardrobes at home (it’s all sweaters and jeans). For myself, Dave, Harry and Lottie we all need plenty of new summer clothing ready for our upcoming holidays and so I’m now on a real mission to get everything we need and have it all packed soon ready to go.

The twins need items such as sandals, t-shirts, shorts, dresses for Lottie, as well as lots of cool accessories such as sunglasses and swimming toys & floats.

And for me? Well I thought you’d never ask!

As you can tell lately I have become obsessed with straw bags ready for the appearance of the sun — I have a new one (shown below) from Topshop that’s coming with me and I know I’ll be Instagramming the hell out of it!

I also have been VERY kindly sent this gorgeous and beautiful new Gottex 100% Milan straw hat from UK Swimwear, which I cannot wait to wear on the beach and poolside. It’s absolutely perfect for keeping the sun off my face as well as making me look uber chic too!

Those lovely guys there also sent me this amazing monochrome Palma swimsuit, which I cannot wait to wear on our family holiday in the sun. Not only is it stylish but it is also practical too, as it has tummy control (YES!), waist slimming and non-wired soft cups. I’ve ordered the UK10 and it fits really well. This one is quite on the pricey side, but they have loads of prices to suit all budgets in different shapes & styles to pick from on their website.

I’m also going to be packing a few dresses, a couple of midi skirts, some shorts, t-shirts, tasselled earrings, a couple of beach bags, a few pairs of sandals, some shades, a book, some make-up and plenty of sun cream.

For my summer clothing wish-list and the items I’ll be purchasing for us all for our holidays, see below!

Eek not long now Jess. I am really going to miss going to Greece at Easter as we have been there for the past 2 years. I love going away at this time of year as it’s when you really need some sunshine. Ok we need some sunshine most of the time living in the UK, but you get my drift. Have an amazing time x
