Yep. It’s here. The season where roll neck jumpers make a come back and the big coat get dusted off and worn once more. And this season it seems that the bigger the better – i.e. the more over-sized and large, the more on trend you are. Don’t hold back from going over-the-top!
I love a roll neck jumper at this time of year. Not only do they hide bits of me I want to hide, but they also keep me SO cosy for the much colder months ahead. Plus they are tres chic aren’t they? You can’t really go wrong with a roll neck jumper, pair of jeans and ankle boots for autumn & winter styling. It’s a great outfit for doing the school run, spending a day out with the family at the weekend or for meeting friends for coffee. Such a classic look.
I keep banging on lately about how I am on a mission to create a more capsule & classic wardrobe (sorry about that!) but it’s because everything just works SO well together in it. Plus it makes it far easier to pick clothes in the morning and get dressed quickly. Which we all need help with, don’t we?!
And so here I have another few navy pieces to build upon my capsule wardrobe collection. The lovely people at Great Plains sent me this gorgeous navy tie-coat and this lovely cashmere jumper recently…and I adore them. Such amazing quality, classic styling and these are pieces that will last me for a long time!
I’m staying on trend for 2017 by having the navy jumper slightly over-sized and half tucked in (i.e. it’s not too tight) with the large, over-sized coat. I am adding in slightly skinny, ripped jeans to make sure I don’t look too ‘baggy’ overall. The block heel on my ankle boots means that I can run about doing all my jobs during the day and yet still stay comfortable on the move!
Here I am desperately trying to channel my inner French-girl style as I dash about running errands around town during the week!

So with that here are some more cosy roll neck jumpers and big coats from around the high street this season, and ones that I am lusting over for my own wardrobe. Happy shopping lovelies!
