The biggest issue I’ve had this year with my own style is that I’ve always felt as though I’m just not daring enough. I’m not particularly wacky or unique and I haven’t got a trademark or signature style like other women do. If I walk into a clothes shop I’ll invariably go for items that are grey, black, tan or white – or reach for denim.
Since becoming a Mum of twins I also don’t naturally tend to favour anything fussy or flamboyant either (like sequins), plus I rarely feel comfortable in a dress. I much prefer androgynous dressing rather than tight-fitting, glamorous outfits every day.
But since I have been blogging more about style over the last 12 months and aiming to become more fashionable myself (post-babies) I have been pushing myself a little more and trying to step out of my comfort zone. Going for more classic pieces that will last but also adding in elements of key trends from that current season.
These Grace ankle boots from Seven Boot Lane are an absolutely perfect example of adding in a touch of style into a basic, everyday outfit. Not only are they beautiful (just look at that snake print!) but they are very comfortable too; the block heel is a perfect size for busy Mums – like me, who are always on-the-go.

MY JOURNEY THIS YEAR
Without sounding like a wally (or like I am on X-Factor) I have indeed come on a real journey with my style during the whole of 2017. This time last year I looked – and felt – like a completely different woman and I don’t really recognise myself when I look back. My confidence of my body was pretty low and I always put myself last at the bottom of a very long list of other people and things to do.
I didn’t make much time for dressing nicely or pampering myself because my life was entirely focused on raising the children. I was also still dressing in the clothes that I wore pre-twins, when my shape was quite different then.
But during 2017 I have enjoyed getting fit, buying clothes that suit me, wearing some of the key trends, getting in front of the camera more, sharing my favourite things on here and Instagram, and generally having WAY more fun with style.
I still wouldn’t say that my style is in any way ‘complete’, but I feel so much happier and better about myself these days, which to be honest is 100% the main thing.
I am therefore excited about going into a new year and hopefully building upon all of this even more. 2018 already looks amazing!
I also just wanted to say a big thank you for all of your comments and support both on here and on social media this year – it genuinely means a lot to me to have such lovely feedback on my outfits and style, and I appreciate it all so much.
