All that glitters is not gold? Well right now in interior design – it IS. Gold is very much on trend – and bling is most definitely back!
I am loving this trend myself currently and enjoying introducing some accessories into my own, modern home. I think that, despite it’s perception, faux-gold decor can work really well in a family home and add in some seriously cool style.
Despite it’s expensive quality, gold can easily look cheap in a room – so I’d say to go for more quality looking items. Still super hot right now on the high street are accessories such as pineapples, mirrors, vases, framed prints and side tables.
These items work really well along with the colours in a room such as brown, black, white and green. Plus they look superb and against darker colours (also VERY on trend) such as dark green or dark blue/navy walls.
Perfect for opulence and luxury!
Faux-gold is such a stylish material and really adds class into any space. Grown-up glamour at its very best. An interiors trend going very strong for 2017.

I love gold home decor too, we have lots of gold finishing touches in our home. I always think a bit of metallic can lift thinks and make them look for interesting. Love the pieces you have picked out. xx

I’m loving gold at the moment – quite a departure for me as I usually go for more natural materials but I just bought a lovely gold wire basket for my home office and love it! Some great ideas here… 🙂 x

Sounds lovely! Love wire too 🙂 xx
Not only do Catherine hail from the same town and she was in the same class as my sister at school, we both usually tend towards silver. However, I really do like some of the gorgeous gold (and copper) accessories we’re seeing at the moment. Love the gold pear. I’d have to keep polishing the fingerprints off it because it looks so smooth and shiny I’d be touching it all the time! #HOMEETC

YES I’ve noticed so much gold home accessories on the high street! I’m more of a rose-gold fan and have a few bits and bobs on my table, it’s such a feminine shade. I love the gold pineapple in your selection, quirky! x

I love rose gold so much – I wear a lot of it too 🙂 xx
I’ve noticed so much of it popping up in the shops – most of it pineapple related which I LOVE! I still can’t figure out where it would go in our house but I saw a geometric gold fruit bowl in next and feel like that may be my first purchase!
I’m so loving this gold trend – in fashion too. I adore that pear in your pic!
I love gold accessories!! I’m finally decorating my office & there will be lots of luxurious gold to make my feel super glamourous! #HomeEtc
I love all the metallic looks after being a total latecomer to the party! My favourite is still copper (which I really didn’t like in the beginning) but gold is definitely up there. And really, you can never have enough blingy fruit 🙂 Love that pineapple!! Xx #HomeEtc
Good tzo know. We have a fair bit of gold in our home but more in a traditional way – frames, mirrors, etc. Interesting to read that it works well with green walls too. That’s the colour we are going for in our livingroom.
