Where I seek interiors inspiration

Styling my home and where I get inspiration

I have always been incredibly passionate about anything to do with homes and interiors. Hubby and I have lived together in a few homes now and my style has changed quite a lot in all that time. We have owned a modern flat, a Georgian home in Chester, a country cottage in North Wales and now we are in a new-build family home in Worcestershire.

My tastes & inspiration have therefore evolved over the years due to living in a variety of different styles. I have adapted to suit each property and usually gone with the feel & flow of the space.

Nowadays, due to living in our modern 5-bed home, I have progressed towards favouring a more minimalist, contemporary look. One that has clean lines (as much as you can with twins!), stark white walls and pops of colour in accessories. In this house I much prefer the uncluttered, simple look – that feels bright and airy. With whites, greys and neutrals as the main colours, with accents of pink, gold and green within accessories and home furnishings.

I get my inspiration from a number of sources these days – largely from the online world. Blogs, vlogs, magazines, Instagram and Pinterest are my main places to find inspiration from others. I can spend literally hours searching!

Another place to find such inspiration is via the Keepmoat Homes inspiration gallery – where some amazing bloggers have shared their homes online. From living rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms and kids playrooms. There’s some gorgeous styling and it is a great place to pick up ideas.

I am also now featured on there too! Here is my inspiration gallery featuring a lot of flowers and pink!

One of the best features of our family home is our lovely modern kitchen, where we spend a lot of time as a family – cooking, eating and playing. I also love our hallway – it was in fact this space that made me want to buy this particular style of house.

So where do you get your inspiration? And what kind of interiors style do you like for your home?

Love, Jess x

Ooh thanks for the share of where you get your inspiration from as I’m currently doing up two bedrooms so that website will come in really handy! I have fast become a Pinterest addict, showing no real interest 6 months ago but now can’t get enough of it! What on earth did we do before the online world eh?

Thanks for the Keepmoat share, that’s gone on my ever-growing list of interiors sites. We’ve been in the same house for 14 years now, it’s Edwardian and we went for period decor at first but it’s slowly evolving into a more contemporary style – so much easier to live in with kids! I’m a sucker for Pinterest too, hopelessly addicted!

Thanks so much for sharing the Keepmoat Gallery, I don’t know what I would do without online inspiration. I love the magazines too but somehow they feel a little ‘removed’ from reality whereas when you get to know someone online you see the warts and all of home projects! X #HomeEtc
