Since we moved as a family to Worcestershire 6 months ago, due to Hubby’s work, I have really missed my Mum. I miss her coming to see us each week, helping me out with the twins, and being able to do nice things and days out with her. I know she misses them too. And although my parents are only 2.5 hrs away now – it is still only once a month or so we get to catch up. It requires much more effort and planning these days.
I was therefore delighted to have her to stay with us last week! She came for 4 nights and we had SUCH a lovely time. The twins were made up to see her and spend quality time with her – getting a bit silly and over-excited at times!
Over the week we went to the park and to the local library which was fab – we had latte and cakes! And when the twins went to preschool Mum and I went into Worcester and shopped and had lunch at Bill’s restaurant! SO nice. Really good to chat to her without the children too.
I had the classic Bill’s burger with pink lemonade to drink! Mum had the chicken burger and elderflower to drink.
The shops were so quiet which was fab. I picked up a pair of ripped, white jeans and an orange top from Mango. Both in the sale! Happy days! And a lovely orange and grey top for Harry from Joules, which he really suits.
And Mum got her wedding shoes for my Sister’s wedding in July! She was so pleased.
She is really easy-going my Mum. Very supportive – listens to my moaning and problems! And also very kind and caring. She’s great company. And in her early 60’s she is still full of energy and fun – racing the twins in running races at the park and pushing them high on the swings. She loves being with them and playing together.
Feel very lucky to have her.
Cannot wait for her next visit. Not too long I hope.
Love, Jess x
