I have just returned home from a lovely weekend away with Lottie at my Sister’s house, near Cambridge. My little Sister gets married to her long-term partner at the end of July and so we were sorting Lottie’s bridesmaid dress (and making sure it fit her), as well as chatting about everything ready for the wedding!
My Sister is going for a ‘vintage meets summer-fete’ theme for her wedding day, which will be gorgeous seeing as it is right in the middle of the UK summer.
My Sister is getting married in an old village hall in Hertforshire; it has wooden beams and is packed full of English charm and character.
She is therefore thinking bunting, jam-jars filled with lavender, and colours such as cream, pale pink and sage green.
We discussed centrepieces for the tables as well as general decor and we jotted down some ideas. I love her plans and all her thoughts so far – she is so creative.
HomeSense have kindly gifted her with some vouchers to help towards making her big day incredibly special, wonderful and memorable – and she absolutely loves their shop for her theme. There is SO much choice and unique finds to really make her wedding individual.
Here are some ideas she likes from HomeSense and items that we are looking to purchase for her vintage inspired summer wedding:
She likes the idea of mis-matched plates and bowls, which will look really good on the tables against the white table-cloths. And lots of textured glassware and vases. Plus candlesticks and flowers. With lashings of hessian, string, foliage and lace.
It is going to be so exciting and such a lovely occasion! I cannot wait. I will of course share with you everything that she selected for the day and how it all looked!
Love, Jess x
