Five under £5: February

Five under £5

I have been meaning to join in with this for the last few months now, as it looks SO much fun! Julia, my good friend, who writes the beautiful blog Rainbeaubelle started this lovely idea of picking five things for under £5 to share. Isn’t it a lovely idea? So here are mine…with a few love hearts thrown in seeing as February is the month of love after all!

One// Postcard. I adore these little postcards from Paperchase! They are so cute, and make great gifts, or simply look good framed. At 0.70p they are super cheap too! I am starting quite a collection now, and love a good quote too! This love hearts one is gorgeous. Just perfect for Valentines Day!

Two// Say it with flowers. I am SO ready for Spring, are you? I bought myself these tulips today, in multi-colours, to cheer myself up after having a cough for over 3 weeks. Urgh. They are so beautiful and the colours are bright and stunning. The have instantly lifted my kitchen. Do you think my Hubby will get the message and also buy me flowers too for the day of love itself?! This bunch was £3.50 from Tesco.

Five under £5

Three// Journal. This spotty heart journal from WHSmith had me as soon as I saw it. At £4.79 it was just within budget! It looks very striking and pretty too. Great for recording all my ideas for 2016, and for making copious lists! I do like a good list! I am such a sucker for a pretty notepad.

The five under £5 linky

Four// Coasters. These monochrome striped coasters from Dunelm have certainly brightened up my home! At £1.99 they were a bargain. I am going for a more Nordic look in my home now; minimalist and modern, and these work so well. I love them for holding my much-needed morning latte.

Five// Nail varnish. I love the mini nail varnishes from Max Factor, great for on-the-go looks. And this colour (soft toffee) is lovely. It was £4.99 from Boots. I love browns and pinks, they feature heavily in my wardrobe. I might wear it for our date night in because Hubby and I celebrate 8 years of marriage on the 16th of the month, and so we will be having a nice meal in and a few glasses of bubbly! Perfect.

My five under £5

So there are my five choices. All brightening up my home and life and little things I have picked up over the last few weeks.

Do have a fabulous February!

Love, Jess x

Ooh you have a lovely anniversary to look forward to there Jess, eight years is definitely a good reason to celebrate. Love your five, they are so light and bright and the tulips are gorgeous! I can’t resist picking up a bunch of tulips or daffodils whenever I pop to the shops. My husband is actually pretty good and getting flowers, weird because he isn’t often that romantic but I always think a girl should buy them for herself anyway! That little journal is really cute, as if I need another notebook!! xx #fiveunder5

Exactly – which is great especially after Christmas when everyone feels a little short of money ha ha! xx

I love that journal, so pretty! I also really like the look of that nail varnish, might need to treat myself to that. I cannot wait for the spring so that I can start just popping into the garden to cut myself some flowers. It still feels so far away! x

I really love this idea. I don’t normally do these kinds of posts as everyone else is always so much more stylish than me! However you have inspired me to give it a go. Love the tulips. My favourite flower. 🙂

I love tulips, they are my favourite flower, I might treat myself tomorrow! I used to collect postcards when I was little! I never thought about collecting them now (because I’m a seaside gal my mind is narrow minded and thinking of olde world postcards with benny hill type jokes! #fiveunder5

I am literally banned from Dunelm… but I’d invest in these coasters too. You know I’m a sucker for monochrome.
And oh how I love lists – almost as much as an excuse to make a list 😉
