Yeah, so this isn’t really the post that I wanted to be typing, or sharing with you guys right now. We’ve had an eventful and rather stressful few days…and it hasn’t been something that I want to repeat again.
After a lovely half-term (which went fairly quickly) we went off to Leeds to visit Dave’s Sister who has just had her third baby boy. We were so excited and all couldn’t wait for cuddles, as well as LOTS of catching up.
On Saturday, after a lovely afternoon playing and seeing more of the family, Lottie fell awkwardly on a trampoline and broke her femur (her thigh bone), just above her knee.
At first we didn’t realise it was broken (minor injuries x-rayed it and told us). Dave and I felt shocked and sick when we heard the results. Poor little thing.
She’s got a cast on her right leg; from her ankle to her groin, and to be honest has done SO well so far. Despite all the pain, stress and upheaval she’s coped incredibly. We’re really proud of her.
Now we’re all back home and back to our comforts. Dave and I are making everything as comfortable as possible for her and even Harry is helping to look after her! So sweet.
Hopefully, perhaps next week, she can even return to school for parts of the week, which will help relieve boredom. We are also planning to see a consultant asap for a recovery plan too.
So there you go. Sometimes life doesn’t always go as you’d planned but you just have to cope and adapt. And as parents it is AWFUL to see your child in pain and distress but at the same time you realise that they are so resilient and they astound you so much.
Get better soon Lottie, we love you.
Love, Jess x
