There is so much going on in our little world right now that I thought I’d condense it all into a post and do a little update as to what we’re up to with our life. September and early October is proving SO hectic for us and exciting too!
The most exciting thing right now in our life is that our babies (or not so babies) turn 4 this week, which has come around so fast. They’re growing into amazing little people and Hubby and I are so proud of them. We’ve had a lot of upheaval in our life over the last 12 months…we’ve moved house and they’ve started preschool and all of which they’ve taken to so well. 4 years old seems so grown up though and wow, life is getting easier as a result. I find myself less tired because they are capable of so much more nowadays and can play alone much more. They also ask me lots of questions now – like “Where do babies come from?” and “What is electricity” which is SO cute, however my brain often hurts at the end of the day!
We haven’t gone crazy on buying presents for them because they have a lot of things already and will probably receive a lot too. Harry likes lego and cars and Lottie likes playing babies and crafts. We have a party planned this weekend for them with their friends so I’m very excited for that! Lots of planning still to do though and I’m feeling a bit stressed at getting it all done. I seem to have millions of ‘things to remember’ flying around in my head at the moment. But we will get there and we will have a superb day. Plenty of cake!
I picked up a new social media management contract recently and so I’ve been busy setting that up and delivering content. It is ideal as it’s local and I’m excited to be on board. I have a few other contracts (writing content for websites) that are still ongoing alongside my own blog so work is CRAZY right now!
Blog-wise I have been asked to take part in some amazing collaborations with brands lately which is fab and I love it so much. I get contacted directly a lot more these days, but because there’s just me writing & creating I can find it hard to fit it all in! I do work hard during the week when the twins are at preschool and also fit it into some evenings too. I love it all though, and especially working freelance and for myself; even though finding the balance between work and home can be a little tough I wouldn’t change it at all.
I’m getting far more confident nowadays with my style and am finding myself really happy again with clothes. I wrote a post recently on how my body confidence has improved recently; I believe this is why it’s making me want to shop and experiment with style more. I’m excited to get a new Autumn/Winter wardrobe and feel good about wearing it.
Here are a few things I’ve been wearing lately…
skirt & t-shirt New Look, pumps Next
pumps Next, jeans Sainsburys, coat Next (old), bag Laura Ashley, t-shirt Next (old)

A few days after the twins party we’re flying off to Kos, Lakitira resort with Mark Warner for a week. Our last holiday to Greece in early June (which was our first ever trip abroad as a family of 4) was so lovely and we are excited to get away once more. This time around I feel as though I am more savvy to travelling with young twins and feel as though I know what to expect from our family holiday. We are so thrilled to spend a whole week together with Daddy, away from the rain and away from work!
So, plenty of packing, organising and shopping still to do but with a BIG birthday celebration to enjoy first!
Love, Jess x
