My 5 things on a Friday

Hi guys, how are you on this Friday? Good I hope — and I hope you have a lovely weekend planned.

So our big news this week is that Lottie has her leg CAST OFF and that her broken leg is now healed. Hurrah! I am feeling so emotional and happy right now. What a big week for our girl. She didn’t enjoy the process of the cast being taken off but it’s great seeing her leg again and for her to be free of the plaster, especially in this heat. Her leg is (understandably) weak — and she’s not mobile yet — but we’re hoping it won’t be long before she starts putting weight on it again.

So as it’s Friday (YAY!) here are the 5 things that I wanted to share with you guys from me this week:

1/ It’s coming home. Well actually it’s not, because as I type this we’re out of the World Cup. Boooooooo. BUT…even though I’m not into football I have enjoyed the build up and the fun and banter that’s been sweeping the nation. It was great to have a good sporting tournament to bring everyone together and get everyone united. Our boys did us proud.

2/ The seasons. I wrote a blog post on blogging this week because I just felt the need to say those things about something I love and enjoy investing my time in. I also read a lovely article this week by Jessica Rose Williams about seasonal creativity and it made a lot of sense. Not just for bloggers, but for anyone who works in a creative capacity. Especially her points about being outdoors more in the summer and how her work takes more of a backseat during this time. I love this concept of seasonal thinking; it’s helped me to realise that I can’t live life at a million miles an hour all the time either. I’m really going to embrace this summer with my little people.

3/ Run Forest, Run. So my running journey continues (and sorry if I’ve become a running bore) but I did a 7.5k run this week! I am SO proud of myself because a few weeks ago I was struggling with running 5k without stopping. I have had a few messages from people asking how and why I’m doing it so I will write a separate blog post on it but for anyone interested in starting the couch to 5k by the NHS is really good.

4/ It’s raining. I have to mention the weather this week, after all, I am British. It’s ALL we like to talk about, lol. But the last few days has brought cloud and rain. During the last month it has felt as though we’re all living abroad and we’ve forgotten what cooler weather feels like. Am hoping it’s just a small break in the weather and that the sun comes back in time for the school holidays.

5/ Clothes. And finally…here are the clothes and accessories that I’ve got in my online shopping basket to hopefully check-out on a few new things this weekend too. They’re lush, and I hope you agree.

Happy weekend guys and I’ll see you again next week.

Love, Jess x

I bet you are over the moon for Lottie to be cast free now, and thank goodness it has all healed. Hope she gets back all her strength real soon. Ah wasn’t it brilliant being swept up with the football, even though I don’t normally follow (plus hubby is Welsh lol) we all got behind our boys x

How brilliant for Lottie being cast free, I hope she bounces back soon and has a super summer holiday. Speaking of summer holidays it is our last week before the kiddies break up and I’m determined to get them outside doing fun ‘free’ activities as my two (6 & 4) are at an age where they are bored. The whole family were excited for the football which was fab as we don’t watch any sport really in our house.
