Hi guys, how are you on this Friday? I hope you have a lovely weekend planned.
We’re feeling pretty excited because we’re off on our holidays in a few days. Literally cannot wait to have a week away, a change of scenery and to spend some quality time with my gorgeous little family. Can already taste the cocktails.
So as it’s Friday (YAY!) here are the 5 things that I wanted to share with you guys from me this week:
1/ Madonna is 60.
My first initial reaction was “Wtf, wow”. I now have even more respect for the singer who literally refuses to grow old gracefully. I feel as though I have grown up with Madonna: I remember being a young girl listening to her on the radio and her pop songs felt cool and edgy. I saw her through all her phases (cone boobs, anyone?) and witnessed her get more raunchy and vocal. Even though feminism feels a particularly current movement amongst many women nowadays, Madonna had a huge voice at a time when it wasn’t widely talked about.
Happy birthday Madonna — you bloody rock.
Sorry not sorry about all the holiday spam heading your way soon. We’re off to Majorca with Jet2 and VERY excited about it indeed. If you fancy following along pop over to my Instagram and I’ll share our trip. I’m desperate for some down time, sunsets, waves and tan lines.
3/ I’ve been listening.
I listened to a podcast when I was running the other night and when I stopped I really cried. If you haven’t listened to Sara Tasker interview Syreeta Challinger from Moments of Sense and Style, then I urge you to. Moving and inspirational and pretty damn lovely too.
We’ve started watching ‘Succession’ on Now TV which tracks the lives of the Roy family as they contemplate their future once their aging father (Brian Cox) begins to step back from the media and entertainment conglomerate they control. It’s very slick, easy viewing and we’re really enjoying it.
And finally…here are the clothes, accessories and the homeware that I’ve got in my online shopping basket to hopefully check-out on a few new things this weekend too. They’re fab…I hope you agree.
Happy Friday, and weekend guys…and I’ll see you again in 2 weeks time (because next Friday I’m hoping to be lying on a beach, under a parasol with a good book!).
Love, Jess x
