My 5 things on a Friday

my-five-things-on-a-friday

Hi everyone, how are you on this Friday? Good I hope. I hope you have a lovely weekend planned.

I’m currently writing this in the peace and quiet of my home kitchen with a clear mind and with no-one asking me for a snack or whether they can go on the iPad AGAIN. Yes of course I miss the children now they’re back at school, but I’ve missed *this* more. I love having my own head-space and day-time hours to write and hit all my work deadlines. Hello and welcome back my lovely blog.

So as it’s Friday (YAY!) here are the 5 things that I wanted to share with you guys from me this week:

1/ Kittens.

Our kittens Molly and Ned have now arrived in our home and are incredibly adorable — no really, they are SO sweet. We’re all besotted. I thought they’d be high maintenance (and like having two babies again) but, to be fair, they’re not much trouble at all. When they’re not eating they’re spending most of the time sleeping, with a little exploring added in too. Cute.

2/ Podcast.

I’ve been listening to Letters from a Hopeful Creative by Sara Tasker and Jen Carrington and have found them super useful. Really helpful actually if you’ve got your own business, are freelance or work for yourself. Advice such as Instagram, when to take the leap and work for yourself and time management. Do go and listen if you’re interested.

3/ Running.

The 10k race I entered is next weekend and although I was recently thinking of pulling out (true story) now I’m well up for it. I’m going to just enjoy the race, the atmosphere and be proud of myself for even doing it. I actually ran 10k last night and didn’t die and so I reckon I’ll be fine. I think.

4/ TV just got good.

I can confess that I just don’t watch TV anymore. A month or so ago I hardly had one programme that I’d be devastated to miss. But with the onset of autumn brings with it better TV. Yes! Hubby and I are currently into BBC’s ‘Bodyguard’ (although who isn’t?) and we are delighted that Bake Off is back on Channel 4 too…we love that show. We have also enjoyed the first series of ‘Succession’ on Now TV, well worth a watch.

5/ Clothes.

And finally here are the clothes, accessories and the home-ware that I’ve got in my online shopping basket to hopefully check-out on a few new things this weekend too. As we approach autumn/winter there’s definitely a warmer vibe going on.

Happy Friday and weekend guys.

Love, Jess x

OOOh yes The Bodyguard is so blooming good! I must admit I’ve been watching much more Netflix over the summer because TV has just been so shocking. Killing Eve starts on BBC this week, which also looks amazing. How cute are your kittens!!!
