My 5 things on a Friday

my-5-things-on-a-friday

Hi, how are you? Good I hope. I hope you have a nice weekend planned.

Well the weather for the weekend ahead looks good again, with no rain forecast! Which is pretty epic. My Mum has been here since Wednesday (which has been amazing, because she’s been great company and helped me out with the school run, dinner and chores!). My Dad is joining us tonight and then they’re staying for the weekend until Sunday. So we’re pretty busy and have lots of catching up to do.

Seeing as it is Friday (YAY) the 5 things that I wanted to share today are:

1/ The Royal wedding is this Saturday! Will you be watching? Here’s what we will be getting up to for the televised marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tomorrow. I cannot wait to see her dress.

2/ Along with MANY other people, I was really angry and appalled this week when Kim Kardashian posted the photo on Instagram of her sucking a lollipop made by @flattummyco, which she claimed suppresses your appetite. I couldn’t believe it. She has 111 million followers; the majority will be young women, who look up to her. HOW completely irresponsible. This is not the right message she should be sending out. I think she might have removed it now but check out what the BBC said on it here. Let’s hope celebrities and influencers really think about their audience and social conscience going forward when advertising products.

3/ If you’re using Instagram, whether for personal use or for business use (or both), you simply can’t avoid Stories and how popular they are right now. People are loving watching other people via Stories and it’s adding so much personality into the app. I think I actually prefer it myself now to the main photograph feed. This was a useful read this week as to how to use it for your business. Go and read if you’re finding Stories hard to grow/get along with.

4/ It is birthday central over here at the moment. It’s Dave’s next week (hello, 37!) then many friends, children and family members to follow. I’m trying to keep up with all the present buying and plans. Phew.

5/ And finally here are the clothes and accessories that I have got in my online shopping basket to hopefully check-out on a few new things this weekend too.

Happy weekend guys, and I’ll see you again next week.

Love, Jess x

Sounds like you had a lovely time with your parents, aren’t mums the best. They do like to fuss and take over (in a good way), lap it up I say!
Thanks for the tip re Instagram, I wish I could speak in front of the camera as I love watching people’s stories – one day maybe.
