My 5 things on a Friday

Hi, how are you on this Friday? Good I hope.

Like I said in my last post, all has not been great over here, as our lovely Lottie sadly broke her leg last weekend…and so this week has been pretty stressful and tiring trying to adapt to our new situation. But, to be honest, she’s been SO good and is coping well. We’re hoping to get her a wheelchair asap so that at least we get leave the house! I’ll keep you posted on her progress.

But it is Friday (YAY), so here are the 5 things that I wanted to share from this week:

1/ I finally watched the new series of Love Island last night. I’ve missed the first two episodes but as there’s not really a plot (lol) I caught up just fine. So far they don’t seem to be crazy about each other do they?, however early days people! Early days. I’m sure there will be many exciting twists along the way.

2/ I was really saddened to hear about the news of the death of fashion designer Kate Spade, who took her own life this week. It is reported she had suffered from depression. So tragic; especially for her family and friends.

3/ I went running! Admittedly it was well over a week ago now, ahem, but I did over 3 miles in my first go (and oh man, it is SO hilly where we live). I am desperate to get out again once we’re into a routine with Lottie, to start building up my fitness. I don’t love running but I don’t hate it either — but it makes you feel so fit when you get ‘into the zone’. I plan to do a few a week straight after the school run drop-off.

4/ SATC turned 20 this week! A show that many of us loved and were addicted to. It was something new and a breath of fresh air for women of our generation. I remember being 20 at the time and was absolutely blown away by the attitude and outlook these women had. At the time, it was seen as revolutionary – four women talking openly about their love (and sex) lives, with great fashion, careers and all set in New York. But it was FAR more than that; it was about true friendship and equality. It also changed the way many women my age thought and acted. It remains my favourite show ever made.

5/ And finally here are the clothes and accessories that I’ve got in my online shopping basket to hopefully check-out on a few new things this weekend too.

Happy weekend guys, have a good one and I’ll see you again next week.

Love, Jess x

I’ve got some stuff in my Next basket to checkout and it seems to be broken! So frustrating! Poor little Lottie, hope she continues to mend soon. I was late to the SATC party and actually didn’t really get into it until the films came out which I LOVED! I feel that I need to go back and watch the whole series because it really was fab. There’s nothing else quite like it is there? xx

Thanks lovely. Yes SATC was amazing, in fact the series was so much better than the films, so you’d love it; highly recommend them xx

Hope your lovely little Lottie is better soon. I have a 5 year old little girl, so I can only imagine how awful it must be.

Ah I hadn’t realised SATC was 20 this week. I’m going to watch some to reminisce. Me and my bestie loved all the series and films. I lost my lovely bestie 2 years ago, she will always be like Charlotte to me❤️
