My 5 things on a Friday

Hi, how are you? Good I hope. Well I am in a good mood today, mostly because it’s a bank holiday weekend — and the weather actually looks OK, with no rain forecast! Fingers crossed. We have no big plans in place for the long weekend ahead but if the weather is good I am sure it’ll include a BBQ, plenty of family time and some gardening.

I’ve had a good week; I’ve been getting on with lots of work and having a few catch ups with friends. It’s been a nice one.

So seeing as it is Friday (YAY) the 5 things that I wanted to share today are:

1/ I can’t come on here and not talk about the Love Island trailer now, can I? Oh. My. God. Who’s excited? I can’t wait. The actual date hasn’t been announced yet but it looks as though it’ll be airing in early June. Last year I stumbled across it a few episodes in and it ended up taking over my life. I hope this series is as good. No pressure guys. Dave hated it though and ended up gardening every evening to escape it (lol), however our garden looked immaculate last summer. I’m wondering if he’ll be the same this year.

2/ I am really excited to be speaking at some social media workshops running with 2Communiate in Worcestershire over the next few months. It’ll be nice to do something a little different and challenging! I’ll be talking everything blogging related, including how I got started and how it now pays the bills. If you want a ticket or want to read more about the course then please do click here.

3/ I’m getting a bit obsessed with reading articles on The Pool. It’s a great place to read about the news, current affairs, feminism, political matters, with a mix of lifestyle and fashion. I find that it’s a great way of keeping up-to-date with what’s going on and hot topics right now.

4/ I’m having a few parenting issues lately…a wobbly daughter going into school mixed with the twins crazy behaviour after school has been a little bit draining to deal with. I talked about it on my Instagram Stories this week and had lots of comments about it — SO many of you related. I just wanted to say that if you are also having some issues with wild or demanding behaviour then you’re not alone. Dave and I have put some really positive things in place such as rewards, relaxing strict rules, treating them like big children and changing our own behaviour, which is making a big difference already. I actually genuinely feel happier already.

5/ And finally here are the clothes and accessories that I have got in my online shopping basket to hopefully check-out on a few new things this weekend too.

Happy bank holiday weekend guys and I’ll see you again next week.

Love, Jess x

I am going to have to invest in a good straw bag, I’ve seen them everywhere on Insta and need one in my life. I hope you had a good bank holiday, how lush was the sunshine!?
