Anyone who has lived with me will probably vouch that I’m not the most sprightly person first thing in the morning, to say the least. These days the twins run into our bedroom every single day, as soon as they wake up, (usually around 6.45am) and instantly want to chat, play and get up for breakfast. I really struggle to open my eyes!
Once I make it out of bed, the one thing that I literally CANNOT wait for is a cup of tea. Until I have had my tea I cannot function. It is something pretty special to me in my day and within my morning routine; especially on these dark winter mornings. It is like a hug!
My first cup of tea will then travel around the house with me as I get myself and the twins ready for preschool. It starts off in the kitchen, where I make breakfast, then travels upstairs where I dress myself and the children. However, usually by now the tea in the cup is getting pretty ignored and very cold!
Twinings have therefore come up with an amazing solution to this cold-tea problem (which is indeed very common amongst us parents) and they have developed a prototype of the “Forget-tea-not” cup, which they very kindly sent to me recently along with some Twinings English Strong Breakfast, which is such a quality tea.
The new cup plays a song to let me know when the tea is at the perfect temperature! The sensor (within the base of the mug) alerts me when the tea is at the perfect temperature for drinking by playing the tune of ‘Bing Bang Bong’ through an inbuilt speaker – meaning it therefore won’t go neglected or cold! What a fabulous idea!
Despite being a lover of coffee (particularly a latte) I cannot bring myself to have one first thing..I love my first cup of tea too much and never, ever fail to have one! It totally sets me up for the day.
The Twinings cup featured above is not yet available to purchase and so I feel lucky to have tried one of the first few! Their tea is stocked in all major supermarkets and also available on the Twinings website.
Do you have a morning routine and does tea or coffee feature in yours?
Love, Jess x
