Saturday 30th July 2016 was a wonderful sunny day down in Hertfordshire. It was a particularly special day in the calendar because my lovely little Sister got married! They created a magical wedding day that was relaxed, laid back and informal and yet extremely beautiful and stylish too. They made their guests feel very welcome in a rural village-hall setting filled with floral bunting hanging from the wooden beams and jam-jars full of aromatic lavender.
Even the morning was a laid back affair. My Sister and Mum went to get their hair and make-up done and I played with my Niece and Lottie whilst we waited. The girls practiced ‘going down the aisle’ – silly style – and enjoyed a large brunch of popcorn!
After the fizz started flowing we all excitedly got ready. My Sister’s best friend was also a bridesmaid with myself and we had stunning pink tulle dresses to wear. Lottie and my Niece were flower girls.
Lottie loved being a flower girl for my Sister’s wedding. She enjoyed the whole event so much and loved spending all that time being a princess!
The flowers were absolutely stunning; ‘wild country garden’ themed bouquets and they smelt divine. Perfect for my Sister’s special day.
My boys (Hubby and Harry) came over to the house to get ready and escort us to the venue! We were ready to get to the wedding and see everyone waiting for us!
I felt really emotional seeing my Sister get married that day. Even though they have been together for many years and have two young children together I was still proud and very overwhelmed. I am also incredibly happy that she is happy.
Everything about the day was perfect; the service, the food, the drinking, the company, the dancing. What a lovely day and evening and such a fantastic way to start married life! Cheers.
Love, Jess x
