Another post about my 2018 goals, ha ha! Sorry for all the goals spam lately but I have another good (and necessary) one to add to my wish-list for 2018. It’s regarding investing in better beauty products for my daily skincare routine because I’m at a point where I genuinely feel as though I need to focus on this far more.
I’ve never been the kind of girl to spend a lot on beauty products though. Clothes, OH YES, but make-up and creams haven’t been on my radar much. I’ve always had all the essentials (and I like to wear make-up every day) but I’ve never felt compelled to spend a complete fortune on my face. It’s not that I have great skin either, I really haven’t – it was my Sister who was blessed with a beautiful complexion – and so I don’t have that excuse. I had quite bad acne when I was a teenager and these days my skin looks/feels tired and damaged too. I guess I’ve just always chosen to invest my money elsewhere.
I’ve only been 39 for a few weeks now (since my birthday on Christmas Eve) but there’s something about being at the end of a decade that makes you start to question everything you do and purchase. I’ve thus recently been evaluating my clothes (see here), my outlook on life (see here) and – now – my face. I’m definitely more interested and keen to use better products that will work hard for me.
The lovely people at L’Occitane have recently sent me their Divine Cream to try. It retails at £78 (50ml) – so it is rather expensive for a face cream – however, I have heard REALLY good things about it. I am therefore excited to see the results…although I always remain dubious about how much some cream can change your face!
L’Occitane claims that Divine Cream is a daily complete face moisturiser that fights against visible signs of ageing, so with my age right now this does actually sound like my perfect companion. Plus it is one of their best selling products.
I have been using it for a few days now and it feels nice and I do feel better about my skincare already. I will definitely keep you posted on this one.
Ugh, winter time and the dry effect it has on my hands is awful. Every time I wash my hands they feel lacking in moisture. Hand cream is therefore like my BFF at the moment and I need to use it several times a day. Santa (aka Dave) kindly brought me a selection of hand cream from L’Occitane and they’re brilliant and just what I needed.
For my dry lips I recently treated myself to this Jo Malone, Lip Conditioner (15ml). It’s a little like vaseline in texture but I love the small, easy-to-use tube it comes in. It is a little pricey but honestly this is fantastic. I keep it on my desk and apply it during the day. I highly recommend it for anyone suffering from chapped lips this winter. I will be definitely be buying another when this runs out.
Another lovely Christmas present that I received this year was this Miss Dior perfume. I love the fresh smell and the bottle is pretty cute too. It has made a nice addition to my dressing table in my dressing room. I’m hoping to try some Jo Malone fragrances out too this year and will be popping into town soon to try some out. Because a girl needs a little luxury in her life now, doesn’t she?!
Do you have any good beauty products that you swear by that you’d like to share? I’d love to know.
