A kitchen office

Working from my home kitchen

As you may know, I have an office at home – which I absolutely LOVE! As a freelancer this is ideal as I work from home a lot and means that I am able to store all of my equipment, wires, folders, magazines, books etc – keeping them all neatly stored away from the rest of the house. Plus, being in a separate space helps to focus my mind away from the home and get me into ‘work mode’.

But sometimes, I need to quickly set up my MacBook Air and get a few emails done/social media posts scheduled for a client. This is usually when I’m watching over dinner, or the twins, (or both), or when the twins are at preschool and I am grabbing myself a lunch or a coffee. I tend to sit at the end of the table in the kitchen and perch myself here, right in the heart of our family home.

I have been kindly sent a VQ Retro Mini radio from the Emma Bridgewater range (£59.99) – which is stunning and so stylish. It keeps me company on quieter days when I am editing photos or scheduling posts.

The radio has DAB/DAB+/FM radio as well as bluetooth for smart devices, which means I can connect my iPhone and play a favourite playlist! I can also use headphones, USB charging and an alarm.

The Mini has a retro style, mini design and modern sounds, wrapped in premium leatherette. It comes in a range of designs which you can find here.

This is my perfect companion for working from home and adds a splash of colour and style to our family kitchen, don’t you think?

That is such a pretty radio (not something I hear myself say often!) I like listening to music when I’m working on image editing and scheduling too – it sometimes helps to have some background noise! Philippa x #HomeEtc

Such a cute radio! I always pop some music on when I’m editing photos – and like you I often end up working in the kitchen instead of using the perfectly good desk in the next room! #HomeEtc

This radio is gorgeous, I love the floral print. Good idea to have a kitchen office space, it does make things easier when you’ve got to look after the kids too! xx

They’re such lovely radios aren’t they? I love mine — I’ve got one in the she-shed and one in the kitchen. Such fab quality sound — and they look a million dollars! Cxx #HomeEtc
