I just wanted to do one last blog post before the twins officially break up from school for Christmas tomorrow, as a little Happy Christmas post to you all before I settle down into feeling festive and spending time with them.
Dave finishes this coming Friday and so I’ve got a few days with the children this week to wrap presents, make mince pieces, watch festive films and generally spend some time together. It’s going to be really nice not to have to get up and dash out every morning and spend more time in our PJ’s.
We are actually hosting Christmas Day this year; both sets of parents are coming to us for a few days and so that will be really nice. Dave is going to cook the turkey (with a little help from both of our Mums no doubt) and I’ll be on Bucks Fizz duty! Our parents are both so excited to see the twins wake up on Christmas morning and open their presents, especially as Harry & Lottie are at such a wonderful age.
The twins are already super excited. In fact I think they’ve spent the whole of December in a crazy-over-excited state and cannot possibly calm down! But we’ve had so many lovely things going on such as visiting Santa, their first school nativity, school crafts, fair etc that who can blame them? Christmas time gets Hubby and I literally SO giddy every year too, as this has always been our favourite time of year, and it’s now even more special having two children to share all the magic with.
I’ve been getting our family house more and more Christmassy throughout December and I am feeling really happy with how homely and festive it feels. Plenty of twinkly lights, green foliage, candles and a couple of trees too.
Our family hallway is my favourite space I think this Christmas though, especially after I picked up some amazing bits this week, as shown below from HomeSense.
Before I go I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all – for reading this year, for visiting my blog and for all of your lovely comments – it is very much appreciated and has made me so happy. I put a lot into this blog and social media and it’s always nice to hear what you think.
I actually have some really exciting plans for my blog and social media for 2018 and I can’t wait to start sharing that content with you – so please do come back again in early January.
But until then I wish you a very Happy Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful time with your loved ones. With lots of love.
Love, Jess x
