We have just had such a lovely weekend – despite the awful rain and weather. And as I write this, it means that it is Sunday the 13th December (already!) and getting exceptionally close to Christmas now! Eeeeeeek! I am nearly there with it all – I have a few more presents to get and my Christmas cards to write and send. Then the HUGE wrapping job to go next week. Going to need mulled wine and plenty of mince pies for that task!
On Saturday morning I took Lottie to her final ballet & tap classes of the year. It was a little show that they were putting on for the parents and grandparents to present to us everything they had been doing for the term. It was SO cute. I almost wept. They could wear what they wanted and she selected her huge, pink, bridesmaid dress and insisted on wearing it! She looked like a princess dancing and I was so proud. She has definitely picked up some of the steps, and although she was a little shy on the day, she has developed so much in the last few months. It has brought out her confidence and she has certainly changed for the better since she started back in September.
Tap seemed to be her favourite of the two classes – but then it is the noisiest!
Daddy and Harry went to see The Good Dinosaur film whilst we were there. Harry is dino obsessed at the moment, and so he really loved it. They had popcorn and sweets and Harry managed to sit through the whole film, and wasn’t too scared at the beginning (as I had been told it was a little scary). Hubby said that the film is OK but not amazing (the animation is though). But they had a lovely day and enjoying spending time together.
On Saturday night Hubby and I decided to have a date night, at home. We had drinks and dinner together after we had put the twins to bed. Something we had been meaning to do for some time. He made us both a two-course meal and it was divine. It was so nice to chat – with no TV, no phones. We vowed that we must do this more often.
So that was our weekend! And now this week is all about getting ready for Christmas! The twins break up from preschool this week, and Hubby finishes work for a long break. And I have so much to fit into this short week! Yikes!
I hope your weekend was lovely too. Have a great week and a very exciting run up to Christmas.
