Getting ready: the ordinary moments

IMG_2948I don’t know about you, but in my house getting ready to go out in the morning is super-stressful. The twins seem to find the whole process hilarious, or annoying, and try their best NOT to let me get them dressed!

They get up at 6.45am/7am ish most mornings. We go downstairs, I change their nappies, they have a drink and then I prepare breakfast. Usually cereal followed by toast. This takes a while…we’re normally done by 8am and then we are ready to go and get dressed. Cue – running up and down the landing, me chasing them trying to put socks on, and me trying to get myself dressed and try to do something with my hair!

Then it’s back downstairs for coats, shoes and getting in the car!

We’re then off to playgroup, playdates, soft-play or my Mum’s house.

Except this one morning this week, we were a little early. And so I grabbed the opportunity to take a picture of the twins – Harry & Lottie, and it was lovely. These photo’s capture them so well. She’s the boss and he’s playing the fool. Fantastic! Growing up far too fast.

They are so cute! It sounds like you’ve built a bit of a routine in which should stand you in good stead for the coming school runs! I have days now where I just don’t have a chance to eat or even make myself a cup of tea – despite leaving over an hour to fit everything in. Xx #ordinarymoments

I am hoping we will be OK. Don’t have to be there until 9am and its 5 mins away in the car so fingers crossed!! Jess xx

Ahhh they are such cuties!!! Your mornings sound hectic but you sound like you’re a pro at it 🙂
I love the pictures and the way you described them seems to match perfectly little lady being the boss and little man acting the fool… so cute!!! Xx

Yes I do a bit of that too – anything to get them to sit still for socks on! Thanks for the comment, Jess x

She’s very bossy and often tells him off! Poor Harry, he hasn’t a chance 😉 Jess x

They are both so adorable! In the morning our dressing up (with my son) is stressful as well. He is so relax and I am so want to hurry up! We are always losing his school tie!!! When we are out of the house we are both okay though. Ready for our school run =)
