When we bought our new-build family home three years ago I thought that styling it would be the EASIEST thing in the world, ever. A blank canvas. A new, fresh start. No lumpy, bumpy, wallpapered walls. Perfect, clean lines and the ability to put our own stamp on it. Oh how wrong I was.

I haven’t bought anything new for our family home for a little while now. I don’t really know why. Perhaps I am at the stage where we have pretty much everything we need? Or maybe I am just too darn busy to think about purchasing lovely home decor pieces at the moment? Or probably both. Anyway, that aside, I actually HAVE picked up a few new pieces recently (which…

Even though we only moved into our new-build family home one year ago we have already done quite a lot to it – we have been busy! Every room is pretty much completely furnished and looks presentable. The main living areas are practical, liveable and comfortable – the kitchen/diner, living room, twins bedrooms, playroom, study and master bedroom. Moving into a new-build house though has made it…

One of the decisions that we instantly regretted about going so open-plan in our last home was the essential need for a utility room, to come in from the garden or a long walk and into the kitchen. We had a dog and two small children – all of whom got very muddy indeed quite regularly – and so we needed a space to hang all of…

I cannot believe that we have already been in Worcestershire for over 6 months – and that family life now feels quite settled here already. Once we made the big decision to move home last year (due to Hubby’s work) things moved pretty quickly. We were extremely lucky finding a buyer for our North Wales home and decided to buy new build ourselves in order to make sure the move…

Since we moved into our new build home over 6 months ago I have been really unsure about how to dress the windows. Blinds? Curtains? All matching? Should I buy them, or have them made to measure? On our first day here Hubby put up the most important blinds first. The children’s bedrooms, our room and the guest room – but most of the other windows have…

We moved into our new build home in Worcestershire 6 months ago now, and to be fair to the developer, we have been SO impressed with the quality of work and minimal need for correcting any defects. The house has been built to a very high standard and we have had hardly any re-correction work done since moving in (only minor things).

One of the coolest and hippest trends that has been around this year (and is still growing massively in popularity) is the Nordic / Scandinavian inspired look, as shown in the above photograph (source). And I seem to be drawn far more to this trend these days, liking blogs that show these designs, and pinning such images on Pinterest.
